Sardarshahar: The start of 2014 Desert Storm

The actual start of the 2014 Desert Storm, Sardarshahar is a town in the Churu district of Rajasthan. It was named after Prince Sardar Singh, one of the former kings of Bikaner.

On 18 Feb’13, Competitors will have a free run from the ceremonial start and get set for the competition which will begin just past midnight on the 24 Feb’14. The assembly point is at Kuber Palace, a hotel just outside the town on the Ratangarh highway.

About Sardarshahar

Sardarshahar is dominated by The Terapanthi Swetamber Oswal Jain merchant community. It is famous for havelis adorned with fresco paintings and carved woodwork. There is also a small fort that now houses government offices. Sardarshahar is the birthplace of the Eleventh Acharya of Jain Swetambar Terapanth, Acharya Shri Mahashramanji.
